Meath Relays

Well done to all our juvenile athletes and their dedicated supporters who traveled to Claremont on Wednesday for the Meath Championship relay competition. It was great to see so many of our Cushinstown singlets/T-shirts. We had 13 relay teams competing.
Well done especially to our younger athletes many of whom were competing for the first time. They all did very well in the very competitive races.   Well done to our two older teams who ran brilliantly with the U14 girls team coming second and our U15 girls team coming third.

U12 Girls team – Eva Gallagher, Nia Hetherton, Abby Kane and Chloe Lin Nolan
U12 Boys team – John Dardis, Kevin Doyle, Jyles Gogan and Luke McAlleese
U12 Boys team – Andrew Gough, Eoin McLoughlin, Thomas Morgan and Harry West

Leinster Success

Well done to our athletes who competed last Wednesday in Santry on Day 1 of the Leinster Secondary Schools event with some through to the national event in June. Laura Bolster was second in the minor 100m, Amy Callaghan won gold in the junior shot putt and 4th in the High Jump just missing out on count back, Niamh Quinn won gold in the Junior discus and Emily McGreal came third in the junior javelin, Abi Sheehy came sixth in the long jump with a pb, Aine O’Sullivan came fourth in the U16 shot putt and in the senior girls Zoe Mohan came first in the Hammer. In the junior boys Jack McGeer came third in the high jump and and 5th in 80mH.  On Saturday, Day 2 of the Leinster Secondary Schools event took place in Santry. Aoife Lenehan came second in the senior girls shot putt and fourth in the discus with a pb throw. Orlaith Quinn came sixth in the Inter girls long jump.

A huge well done to Amy Callaghan who competed in the Leinster Outdoor Combined Event in Kilkenny on Saturday. She did brilliantly in the U15 pentathlon winning silver. A big well done to Donal Kearns who performed brilliantly in the senior pentathlon to win the gold medal. Another successful weekend for our athletes, well done to you all
