| An amazing fifth place finish for Elizabeth at the recent European U20 T&F Championships in Grosseto, Italy, and also a new national heptathlon record of 5801pts. Elizabeth started her heptathlon with the 100mH where she ran a season’s best time of 13.94secs, clearing 1.75m in the high jump and threw a personal best of 11.47m in the shot putt, finishing day one with a season’s best of 24.76sec in the 200m. Day two began with the long jump where Elizabeth achieved a brilliant pb of 6.01m in the long jump, another pb in the Javelin with a throw of 43.74m, before finishing the competition with an 800m in a time of 2:23.93. We are all very proud of Elizabeth’s achievements at Cushinstown and also her coach Phelim Joyce who was in Italy to see her compete.
