To All Club Members,

Athletics Ireland have issued Phase 2 guidance protocols. This includes an increase in the size of outdoor training groups to fifteen (15) and an extension to the distance we can travel to train. People can travel within their own County, or up to 20km from their home, whichever is further.

All members U18 must have the form signed by a Parent / Guardian and the Parent / Guardian contact mobile number.  Thank you to the members that have already submitted their form.

It was a busy few weeks for Elizabeth Morland, competing in the Women’s Pentathlon in the 2020 Indoor Combined Events Tallinn in Estonia on Sunday Feb 9th and in Athlone on Wed. 12th. Elizabeth came 7th overall in the Combined from a very competitive field of 23, with a new pb of 4169 points beating her old pb of 4041 by 128 points. A very impressive performance which will inspire confidence going forward. Elizabeth also won the Senior Women’s Long Jump in the AIT International Grand Prix 2020.

Well done to both Zoe Mohan and Donal Kearns who were competing yesterday in the Indoor University Track and Field Championships held in Athlone. Zoe competing for DCU won the 8kg weight for distance with a throw of 8.25m while Donal who was representing TCD won the Combined Event comprising of the 60m hurdles, Shot Put, Long Jump  High Jump and the 1000m. Congrats to our two National University Champions. 👍👍

New Record for Lizzy

Congratulations to Lizzy Morland in setting a new National record in the Heptathlon while competing in Arona, Tenerife over the weekend. In reaching 5815 she beat her own existing record which she set in the European Juniors in Grosseto, Italy last year. Setting a new PB in the LJ she also had a PB in the shot had a solid Javelin and ran well in the 200 and was just .02 off her PB in the hurdles. Full result- 13.63 100mh, 1.70 HJ, 11.49 SP, 24.99 200m, 6.12 LJ, 43.49 Jav. 2.22.23 800m.
