Intervarsity Track & Field Championships
Four of the club’s senior team competed in the Irish University Intervarsity Track and Field Championships in Belfast on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th of April. Donal Kearns (University of Limerick) battled through the five events of the combined events to come fourth with 2599 points. Elizabeth Morland (Dublin City University) secured a silver medal in the shot put as well as a DCU javelin record to come second in that competition. Luke Redmond (DCU) secured his teams position in the 4x 400m relay, the team later won the 4x 400m final. Michael O’Sullivan (University College Dublin) came 7th in the shot put and later secured bronze in the discus with a PB. These athletes contributed to their colleges success with all three colleges coming in the top three of the male points table (DCU, UL and UCD respectively) while DCU had the most points in the female competition. This is a promising start to our senior teams outdoor season and we wish them all the best with the rest of their outdoor season!
